Popular restaurant chain is raising its prices, report says

New York’s Staten Island — Now, the guacamole will undoubtedly cost more.

According to a recent NBC News story, Chipotle, the well-known creator of the burrito bowl, will shortly be increasing prices by roughly 2%.

According to the news outlet, the corporation established the rise in response to inflation fears.

Chipotle’s chief corporate relations officer, Laurie Schalow, told NBC News that the company has implemented a small price rise of about 2% nationwide to counteract inflation for the first time in more than a year.

According to NBC News, Truist Financial was the first to notice the price increase, noting that prices at 20% of the Chipotle restaurants nationwide that were polled had gone up in the previous week.

On Staten Island, there are now two Chipotle locations: 2602 Hylan Blvd. in New Dorp and 2655 Richmond Ave. in the Staten Island Mall.

On Sunday, December 6, 2024, at 10:12 a.m., Fifth Avenue in New York City will be blocked to traffic in honor of the 200th birthday.

A report claims that on December 8, 2024, at 2:41 p.m., two migrants were stabbed and one was killed in Lower Manhattan in what may have been a hate crime.

At one point, 1630 Forest Ave. in Port Richmond was supposed to be a drive-thru-only Chipotlane shop where customers could pick up digital orders without getting out of their cars.

According to the location’s landlord, the expansion appears to be on hold as of July.

A company spokesman added that there is no new information to publish or any updates regarding Chipotle’s plans for future expansion in the borough.
