See you!
Well, not quite, but Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reports that Michael Kay’s participation at ESPN radio will change things soon.
When Kay’s afternoon drive show concludes on December 13, his 22-year tenure as host of The Michael Kay Show will come to an end.
According to the story, Kay, who has co-hosted the afternoon drive with Peter Rosenberg and Don La Greca in recent years, is not quitting ESPN but will instead broadcast a show by himself in the middle of the day. Naturally, Kay also serves as the YES Network’s play-by-play commentator for the Yankees.
In the meanwhile, Alan Hahn will now co-host the afternoon drive with Rosenberg and La Greca. The afternoon drive contracts have not yet been formally announced.

Although it was unclear whether Kay requested the change or if ESPN made the final decision, Marchand claims that Kay personally profits from the move to the mid-day show, even though his pay will probably be lower.
Bart Scott, who formerly co-hosted a midday show with Hahn, is now reportedly set to co-host with Dan Graca from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In New York, that program will take the place of Mike Greenberg’s national ESPN.
According to the story, Dave Rothenberg and Rick DiPietro will still co-host the morning drive.
