A Houston-area contractor, Eusebio Maldonado, 51, is at the center of a widening scandal as more victims come forward with allegations of fraudulent activities. Maldonado, who remains elusive with open warrants in both Texas and Louisiana, has left a trail of disgruntled homeowners across four counties, deepening concerns about accountability in the home repair industry.
Maria Iris Yanez, a single mother from Pasadena, is among the latest victims to speak out against Maldonado’s alleged deception. Recounting her ordeal, Yanez explains how she sought Maldonado’s services following tornado and hail damage to her home. Despite paying him $3,500 for permits, materials, and promised repairs, Yanez, like many others, has been left in limbo as the work remains unfinished.
Investigations reveal a pattern of deceit dating back to 2019, with Maldonado accused of preying on vulnerable homeowners in Galveston County, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, and Chambers County, Texas, among other locations. The total sum allegedly pocketed by Maldonado from unsuspecting homeowners amounts to thousands of dollars, highlighting the devastating financial and emotional toll of his actions.

Efforts to locate Maldonado have been met with frustration, leaving victims like Yanez feeling abandoned and powerless in their pursuit of justice. As authorities intensify their search, questions loom over the effectiveness of regulatory measures and the need for greater transparency and oversight within the home repair industry to prevent similar incidents in the future.
