Rebecca Grossman, a prominent socialite, has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison following a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two young boys. Grossman, 60, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder after her involvement in a fatal collision while engaging in a high-speed race with her partner, former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Erickson.
The incident occurred when Grossman and Erickson, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, were engaged in a reckless game of chicken on the streets of Los Angeles. Tragically, their actions led to the deaths of Mark Iskander, 11, and his brother Jacob Iskander, 8.
During the sentencing hearing, Grossman pleaded with the judge to consider her suffering and claimed she was “not a murderer.” She expressed remorse for the pain caused to both her own family and the Iskander family, stating that the punishment for living with that pain was already severe.
Despite Grossman’s pleas, the judge handed down a sentence of 15 years to life, emphasizing the seriousness of the crimes committed. Grossman’s attorneys had argued for probation, but the judge ultimately ruled in favor of the prosecution.

The Iskander family, while acknowledging Grossman’s pain, expressed their disappointment in her lack of remorse and efforts to delay the legal proceedings. They described the ongoing fight for justice as “horrific” and emphasized the need for accountability in cases of such tragic loss. Grossman’s sentencing marks the conclusion of a lengthy legal battle, but for the Iskander family, the pain of their loss will endure far beyond the courtroom.
