STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Dr. Rashi Aggarwal has been named the next chair of psychiatry and behavioral science at Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell (SIUH).
The Ocean Breeze hospital announced the appointment, citing Aggarwal’s extensive experience and stellar record of leadership in medical education, physician wellness, and consultation-liaison psychiatry.
According to the release, Aggarwal will stress patient-centered care and implement progressive treatment approaches with an emphasis on improving psychiatric and behavioral health services.
To guarantee that the hospital continues to be a leader in behavioral health care in the community, her approach entails bolstering training initiatives, promoting cross-departmental cooperation, and supporting staff well-being, according to hospital administration.

Aggarwal was a professor of psychiatry at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School before to joining SIUH. Since 2009, she has held a number of important management positions there.
