Staten Island boxing: Tottenville HS to host Ring Masters Tournament qualifier on Saturday

The first of 19 authorized qualifiers for the 2025 Ring Masters Championships will take place at Tottenville High School in Huguenot on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 3 p.m., marking the beginning of the journey to Madison Square Garden for some of the top boxers in the metropolitan area.

This borough is home to the NYC Cops & Kids, who are hosting the Island qualifier. Anthony DeMonte, a social media influencer and former Golden Gloves champion from Tottenville High School, will host the event.

With the addition of Anthony Laieta, James Gentile, and Carmine Gentile from Staten Island, the NYC Cops & Kids Program will have a strong presence.

Eighteen other qualifiers will be held in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Long Island in addition to the Island event. Take a look at the above graphic.

On April 17, 2025, at 6 p.m., the finals will be held at Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of Boxing.

For amateurs, the National Golden Gloves tournament serves as a testing ground and frequently serves as the launching pad for a lucrative boxing career.
