At the Spiro Sports Center, Wagner College defeated Division III Springfield 81-46 on Saturday, with five players scoring in double figures.
Senior Ja Kair Sanchez contributed 12 points off the bench, while senior Zaire Williams led Wagner with 19 points. Senior Javier Ezquerra and junior Keyontae Lewis each scored ten points, while senior Tyje Kelton scored eleven points.
Although Wagner’s lead at the half was still 40-32, he increased the defensive ante in the second half, limiting Springfield to 6-of-22 (27.3%) field goals in the final 20 minutes.
The Seahawks outscored Springfield 42-25 and led by 18-2 in steals, 32-6 in points off turnovers, and 46-16 in points in the paint.
Wagner (3-3 overall) will travel to Georgetown on Tuesday night for another Big East game.
Bentley 82, CSI Men 84
With 1.6 seconds remaining, JJ Chestnut made a twisting layup from the right side to give the Dolphins (3-3 overall) a non-conference victory over the Massachusetts visitors.
These were the final points of Chestnut’s game-high 24 points, which came after Bentley’s Cash McClure (23 points) had just made a game-tying 3-pointer.
Asa Kone scored 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds, Aaron Goldstein scored 14 points, and Messiah Mallory scored 17 points for CSI.
Bentley’s 30-for-59 (1-3 total) effort was mitigated by the Dolphins’ 34 for 65 (52.3%) field goal shooting.
Pace 64, CSI Women 66 (OT)
Jenalyse Alarcon scored six of her game-high 21 points in overtime as the Dolphins prevailed at home Wednesday after CSI (4-2 overall) overturned a five-point lead after three quarters to force overtime.
Amber Abusbeih scored nine points, Kyra Rose contributed seventeen, and Noemia Massingue scored twelve as CSI went 25–36 from the free-throw line.
The Dolphins have now won three in a row after defeating Wilmington 76-38 on Wednesday. At 5:30 on Tuesdays, they play Dominican.

Women’s 71, Northeastern 56
With a 24-point deficit at the half, the Seahawks (1-3 overall) lost the non-conference game at home on Friday night. Early in the third quarter, Wagner cut that gap to 13 points, but the Huskies (1-4 overall) put an end to the comeback.
Wagner’s top scorer, Julia Fabozzi, had 21 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. Redshirt sophomore Klea Kaci scored six points, graduate student Raneem ElBarky scored four, Angelie Ricard scored nine, and KC Carter scored eight.
Wagner will be back at Iona on Tuesday night.
