Staten Island students celebrate grandparents as part of Catholic Schools Week

New York’s Staten Island. At the Sacred Heart School’s second annual Grandparents’ Day event, there were plenty of hugs and vibrant art projects, but it was difficult to miss the beaming smiles.

Susan Ferrara, of New Dorp, tried not to smile as she remarked, “It was the highlight of the day to see his smile when we arrived.” Ferrara never gets to see her three-year-old grandson, Noah Ferrara, in action, but she picks him up every day from the West Brighton school. He was ecstatic and startled.
