In a significant development, a teenager believed to be involved in a fatal shooting incident in McKees Rocks has been apprehended in Florida. Allegheny County Police confirmed the arrest on Friday, marking a crucial breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.
The incident unfolded on April 20 when fifteen-year-old Ahsan Edwards was tragically discovered with multiple gunshot wounds at McKees Rocks’ Third Street Park.
Despite efforts to save him, Edwards succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital, sending shockwaves through the community.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, county detectives meticulously sifted through witness testimonies and surveillance footage, piecing together crucial evidence to identify a suspect.
Their diligent efforts culminated in obtaining an arrest warrant for Delvon Johnson, a seventeen-year-old resident of McKees Rocks.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Orlando Police Department, Johnson was apprehended in Orlando, Florida, on Friday afternoon. Currently detained in Florida, he awaits extradition proceedings to Allegheny County to face charges in connection with the crime.
