These Christmas tree light controllers have been recalled due to fire hazard

New York’s Staten Island. Because they can overheat and create a fire, more than 44,000 brightly adorned wireless light controllers that let kids simply light their Christmas tree have been recalled.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, which announced the manufacturer’s recall, claims that the controllers, which are made by Mr. Christmas LLC of Memphis, Tennessee, plug into an outlet and have the potential to overheat and cause a fire.

According to the manufacturer, the tree light switch, which plugs into an outlet and goes by a different name and looks different in Target, Walmart, and Cracker Barrel stores, poses a fire hazard because it can overheat.

The controller is made up of two parts: a white receiver that connects into an outlet and into which the holiday lights are plugged, and a lever or switch that may be pulled to turn the lights on or off.

With a candy cane on/off lever and the words “Christmas Light Controller” displayed, the controllers that are offered at Cracker Barrel and Walmart are designed like green, red, and white peppermint candies.

The Wondershop-branded controllers that Target sells are square on/off switch boxes with green, red, and white balls that read “Tree Lighting Switch.”

All of the recalled devices have a white wireless receptacle that plugs into an outlet, reads “Mr. Christmas,” and has one of three model numbers printed on it: 39611, 39612, or 39630.

Mr. Christmas stated in its recall that customers should cease using this product right away and return it to the retailer for a complete refund.
