ABC News recently reported that a double stabbing on Thursday night killed one migrant and injured another.
The report states that the stabbing occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on John Street in the Financial District.
According to the site, three guys are among the suspects in the incident.
The media outlet was informed by investigators that an exchange took place before to the altercation.
The investigation claims that one of the three suspects initially inquired about the English language proficiency of the two adolescent migrants. The teenagers’ “no” response prompted the stabbing.
Following that, the two teenagers were brought to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.
After being stabbed in the chest, 17-year-old Yeremi Colino was declared dead at the hospital.
According to ABC News, his friend Alan Magalles Bello, 18, is expected to fully recover after being stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver.
According to the news site, police have stated that they are searching for three men with dark complexions who are approximately in their 20s.
According to ABC, Mayor Eric Adams also stated that if the NYPD’s investigation concludes that the two were stabbed because they did not speak English, the murder could be upgraded to a hate crime.
