Vehicle ablaze on Bayonne Bridge draws large emergency response Friday morning

New York’s Staten Island. On Friday morning, a car on the Bayonne Bridge caught fire, prompting a significant rescue reaction.

According to a Bayonne Fire Department member and emergency radio communications, the FDNY and FDNY extinguished the fire in roughly ten minutes with the help of Port Authority Police.

According to the BFD, no injuries were reported, and the origin of the fire was not immediately determined.

Around 6:30 a.m., drivers on the Staten Island-bound side of the bridge, nearer New Jersey, reported the incident for the first time. It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

Due to the high traffic on the Staten Island-bound side of the bridge, emergency vehicles were on the site for at least 30 minutes.
