New York’s Staten Island. On Friday morning, a car on the Bayonne Bridge caught fire, prompting a significant rescue reaction.
According to a Bayonne Fire Department member and emergency radio communications, the FDNY and FDNY extinguished the fire in roughly ten minutes with the help of Port Authority Police.
According to Bayonne fire officials, the cause of the incident was not immediately identified, and no casualties were recorded.
Around 6:30 a.m., drivers on the Staten Island-bound side of the bridge, nearer New Jersey, reported the incident for the first time.
Traffic on the Staten Island-bound side of the bridge was still heavy, and emergency vehicles stayed at the scene for at least 30 minutes.
