New York’s Staten Island. On Tuesday night, water accumulated in a residential area of Clifton due to a major water main break.
Just before 7 p.m., FDNY personnel were dispatched to the site at Bay Street and Greenfield Avenue.
An FDNY representative stated that firefighters were now inspecting nearby properties for signs of flooding.
According to a DEP spokesperson who spoke to the Advance/SILive.com, DEP officials were on the site looking into the matter and trying to locate the leak and turn off the water.
Water flooded the road beneath an overpass near the Clifton railway station, closing off a significant portion of Bay Street from Townsend to Greenfield avenues.
