Woman, 43, fatally stabbed outside Staten Island apartment complex

New York’s Staten Island. According to police, a 43-year-old woman was fatally stabbed during a quarrel Tuesday night close to her West Brighton home.

Before police officers arrived at 7:35 p.m. to answer to a 911 complaint of an assault near the West Brighton Houses apartment complex at 820 Henderson Ave., Jennira Roundtree was stabbed numerous times in the chest, according to an NYPD statement.

The facility was home to Roundtree.

According to a person familiar with the investigation, the victim was killed after a brawl outside one of the buildings that involved up to 20 women.

According to the police statement, EMS arrived and took Roundtree to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, where she passed away from her wounds.

According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Police do not yet have descriptions of the suspects.
