Alito’s “Disrespect” for The American Flag Must Be Apologized for By Jeffries!

Justice Samuel Alito of the Supreme Court was asked to say sorry for “disrespecting” the American flag by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on Friday. Jeffries said in a press release Friday that Alito should apologize right away for disrespecting the American flag and supporting dangerous right-wing insurrectionists.

In the statement, the New York Democrat said, “He must recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 election and [former President Trump].” “Congress should look into passing laws right away to make the Supreme Court follow some moral rules. The American people and the Constitution expect more from justice on the top court in the country than to deny an election without a good reason.

Jeffries’ comment came after The New York Times reported on Thursday that Alito’s home in Alexandria, Virginia, had an upside-down American flag flying in January 2021. The “Stop the Steal” campaigns are linked to the upside-down American flag, which is a symbol of false charges of election fraud.

Alito said that the flag was made by his wife, Martha-Ann Alito. To the Times, Alito said, “I had nothing to do with flying the flag.” Mrs. Alito put it up for a short time because a neighbor was putting up yard signs with offensive and personally insulting language.

After the flag was found, Douglas Alito was asked to step aside from all cases involving January 6, 2021, and the 2020 election by Dick Durbin, the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee (D-Ill.). “Clearly, flying an upside-down American flag—a symbol of the so-called ‘Stop the Steal’ movement—makes it look like you are biased,” Durbin said.

According to him, Alito should quickly step down from any cases that have to do with the 2020 election and the January 6th uprising. This includes the Supreme Court’s current discussion of the question of the former President’s immunity in U.S. v. Donald Trump.
