Four individuals from Florida are spending more time in the Brazos Valley than they likely hoped for, thanks to quick work by local law enforcement. The two men and two women were arrested earlier this month and remain in the Brazos County Detention Center.
According to police reports, Richardo Lagueere, Shanta’nice McMillan, Cache Reid, and James Ward were involved in the break-ins of multiple vehicles on Friday, June 7. The incidents occurred outside a preschool on E. Villa Maria Road and another childcare facility on Copperfield Parkway, targeting vehicles belonging to employees and parents.
Bryan police tracked credit cards stolen from these vehicles to a business on Briarcrest, where two suspects were caught on camera purchasing a gift card, chips, and a drink. Another suspect used a stolen card to fill up their getaway car at a nearby gas station.
The group was apprehended by a Brazos County deputy after one suspect was seen tossing a purse into a dumpster behind a hotel and changing the rear license plate on their car at a park. Further investigation revealed the car was rented from Houston, and a stolen handicap placard was found in their possession.
