In a disturbing incident highlighting the vulnerability of elderly individuals, a 73-year-old man fell victim to a vicious attack and robbery in Queens. The NYPD reported that the victim was walking near 79th Street and 37th Avenue in Jackson Heights around 3:10 a.m. when he was accosted by a stranger demanding cash.
The situation quickly escalated as the assailant brandished a knife, with three additional individuals joining the confrontation. In a cowardly act of violence, the group shoved the elderly man to the ground and proceeded to unleash a barrage of kicks and punches upon him.
The assailants callously robbed the victim of his wallet, containing $80 and essential identification cards, before fleeing the scene. The traumatized victim, suffering from a severe laceration to the head, along with pain and bruising throughout his body, was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst by EMS for urgent medical attention.
