In Atlantic City, New Jersey, firefighters successfully contained a fire that broke out on the boardwalk. The fire started under the boardwalk near South Tennessee Avenue around 7 p.m. and quickly spread to a nearby store.
Over 50 firefighters responded to the scene and worked tirelessly for hours to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, all the businesses on the pier were closed when the fire erupted, averting potential injuries.
Patti Goldberg, who has worked at Central Pier Arcade for years, expressed gratitude for the firefighters’ efforts, acknowledging that the situation could have been much worse. Despite the damage, she emphasized taking it one day at a time.
Similarly, Raul Coreas, another worker on the pier, thanked providence that no one was injured. He emphasized the need to focus on rebuilding and moving forward.
