In a recent development, Xavier M. Scott, a resident of Georgia, has been handed a significant sentence of 15 years in prison by a U.S. District Court judge. This decision comes after Scott pleaded guilty to charges related to drug trafficking during a traffic stop on Interstate 469 back in 2021.
During the routine traffic stop, law enforcement officers discovered a considerable amount of illegal substances in Scott’s vehicle. Specifically, they found cocaine along with 12.4 grams of methamphetamine, which was reported to be of exceptionally high purity at 98%.
Additionally, Scott was found in possession of various items commonly associated with drug distribution activities, such as a digital scale, plastic baggies, and multiple cell phones.
Given the substantial evidence against him, Scott admitted guilt to possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, as well as possessing a firearm in connection with drug trafficking.
As a consequence, the judge sentenced him to a lengthy prison term of 15 years, which will be followed by eight years of supervised release under the oversight of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
