A Penn State student, Ryan Gustin, 21, from New York, was arrested for assaulting another student in an East Halls dormitory early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a call about an unconscious, intoxicated female around 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 13. Upon arrival, the victim reported that Gustin had pushed her into a wall, causing her to hit her head and fall to the ground.
A witness stated that they saw Gustin raise his hand before hearing a loud noise.
When police arrived, they found blood on both the victim and Gustin’s pants. The victim was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.
Gustin is currently on interim suspension, according to Penn State spokesperson Lisa Powers. During this time, he is not allowed on university property without permission and cannot participate in university-sponsored events, including classes.
Gustin faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
