New York City police are intensifying their investigation into a series of alarming armed robberies that have occurred within less than a month at prominent restaurants in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and Greenwich Village. These incidents have raised significant concerns about public safety and security in bustling dining areas frequented by residents and visitors alike.
The first robbery took place on May 31 at Birds of a Feather restaurant in Williamsburg. According to police reports, an unidentified assailant approached two men, aged 38 and 40, outside the restaurant on Broadway.
The perpetrator brandished a firearm and demanded the victims’ watches before fleeing the scene on a two-wheeled vehicle accompanied by another individual. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the suspects remain at large, and no arrests have been made thus far.
Just over two weeks later, on June 18, another robbery occurred outside Marlow & Sons in Williamsburg. A 39-year-old man was accosted by two individuals who threatened him with a firearm and forcibly took his watch before making their escape. Despite ongoing efforts by law enforcement, the perpetrators have yet to be apprehended, and investigations continue.
The most recent incident transpired on June 21 outside Carbone restaurant in Greenwich Village. Three diners were targeted by two armed individuals who demanded their valuables. The assailants seized a watch and two cell phones from the victims before fleeing the scene. Although the phones were later recovered nearby, the suspects remain unidentified, and the investigation remains active.
