In Donald Trump’s trial concerning hush money payments, the defense wrapped up its cross-examination of former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker on Friday.
Pecker affirmed his truthfulness to the best of his recollection despite arguments from Trump’s lawyer that his testimony contradicted earlier statements to federal prosecutors.
Pecker testified that Trump thanked him for handling potential news stories involving a Playboy model and a Trump Tower doorman during a 2017 White House visit.
However, Trump’s lawyer pointed out inconsistencies with Pecker’s previous statements to federal authorities, although Pecker stood by his courtroom testimony.
Former Florida Governor Bob Graham was laid to rest today after people paid their respects as he lay in state at the capitol building in Tallahassee. Graham, who passed away earlier this month, served eight years as Florida’s governor and nearly two decades as a senator.
Graham was a unique leader in today’s hyperpartisan politics. He wasn’t a typical politician, but rather a genuine individual who connected with people on a personal level throughout his nearly five decades in politics.
Despite being a Harvard-educated lawyer, Graham earned support from both Republicans and Democrats with his down-to-earth demeanor.

Known for his “workdays,” where he would spend a day trying different jobs to connect with ordinary people, Graham had his final workday wrapping Christmas presents for a Florida Keys charity.
After retiring from politics, he dedicated himself to promoting civic engagement through the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida.
