A bizarre and alarming incident unfolded on a Florida interstate involving a 22-year-old woman from Georgia, Taylon Nichelle Celestine, who stands accused of shooting two drivers.
What makes this case even more perplexing is Celestine’s assertion that she was following divine guidance, specifically related to a solar eclipse.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Celestine was apprehended on Interstate 10 near mile marker 96 following suspicions that she had wounded two drivers earlier.
Shockingly, before the shootings occurred, Celestine had apparently checked out of a local hotel and openly informed staff members of her intention to embark on a shooting spree. She claimed that she was directed by ‘God’ and cited the solar eclipse as part of her motivation.
Upon her arrest, Celestine was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and improper discharge of a firearm. Law enforcement officers discovered both an AR-15 rifle and a 9 mm handgun inside the Dodge Challenger she was driving, which bore Georgia license plates.
The incident took place near Bonifay, a town located approximately 50 miles north of Panama City. While the details of the case are unsettling, what remains unclear as of Monday night is whether Celestine has secured legal representation to comment on her behalf.
